Construction site at Dalquhurn
The area shown here was formerly the site of Dalquhurn Dye Works (see the link in the final paragraph); when this photo was taken, the site had been cleared of buildings. Construction on a new housing development resumed shortly afterwards.
The photograph was taken from the cycle path, at the point where a footpath branches off towards Dalquhurn Point.
On the right-hand side of the mound, some buildings are visible; these are in Dalquhurn Lane. On the near side of those buildings, right in front of the trees, a small area is surrounded by its own enclosure; that area is NS3977 : The former site of Dalquhurn House.
