Only the round tower remains of the original St Peter's church that stood here in Norman times, chancel and nave were built in the 15th century and the chancel was entirely rebuilt by William Freston in 1735 - his monument > Link can be seen on the south wall. The brick south porch > Link is medieval as are a number of carved bench ends > Link in the nave, the backs of which were made from later woodwork. One may have come from a screen and has an inscription > Link carved in the wood. The baptismal font > Link dates from the 15th century also.
