Dumbarton Foreshore
Dumbarton Foreshore
There is a signposted NS4074 : Dumbarton Foreshore Walk (see the map) from the southern end of Castle Road; it can be followed for quite a distance along the shore. Alternatively, for a shorter walk, it can be followed to NS4074 : Gruggies Burn; a path alongside the burn then leads to Castlegreen Street.

Beyond the tree at the centre of the photo is the area where NS4075 : Gruggies Burn, formed by the merging of NS4176 : The Garshake Burn and NS4477 : Overtoun Burn, flows into the River Clyde. A rocky eminence, NS4274 : Dumbuck Quarry, can be seen to the right of the tree.

The posts in the water are located within an area that was once a timber pond; see NS4074 : Posts on the shore.
