Stalactites under bridge
Stalactites under bridge
Topped with wonderful lichen, the underside of this old packhorse bridge has a wonderful array of stalactites. The frequent flooding under the bridge prevents much build up below of limestone deposits. The packhorse bridge was made famous as a film location in "Withnail and I" (1986) and it is in the pools beyond the bridge that Withnail attempts to go fishing with a shotgun.
