taken 14 years ago, near to Great Tosson, Northumberland, England

Tosson Burgh hillfort
Tosson Burgh hillfort
A univallate (having a single surrounding rampart) hill fort of the Iron Age, enclosing an area of about an acre. The hilltop situation commands a fine view of the Coquet valley around Thopton. A bronze axe was found in the enclosure by a workman in 1890.
