Great Tosson from the hill fort
The view extends down Coquetdale to Rothbury. Great Tosson is described as a shrunken village, now just a farm and a cluster of farm-workers' cottages. It was once much more extensive. During the first decade of the C19th it contained a schoolhouse, blacksmith's shop, joiner's shop and a public house.
