Burn flowing over a footpath
This photograph shows the ford that was (at the time this picture was taken) indicated on the 1:25000 OS map; here, shortly after leaving the forest (see NS4375 : The Crags Circular Path - leaving the forest), the footpath is crossed by a burn (one of those that combine to form the Milton Burn): see also NS4375 : Crags Circular Path heading away from the forest.
Later, in connection with forestry operations further uphill (see NS4477 : Entering cleared forestry land), the track here was modified, and the burn was culverted beneath it, so that there is no longer a ford: NS4375 : Burn culverted under track.
