SP3378 : The Herbert, new north entrance

taken 14 years ago, near to Coventry, England

The Herbert, new north entrance
The Herbert, new north entrance
A lottery grant to the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum has funded this new north entrance and display space. Recent exhibits included one of Frank Whittle's early jet engines. Behind the camera is a colossal Jacquard loom – there is an amazing video of it noisily making ribbons. There is also a lively café – recommended. On the left is the excellent new History Centre which brings under one roof the city's archives and Coventry Library's local history collection.
