Not much to add really, except you can see why the farmer doesn't plough it.
Actually, it's probably too wet anyway. The site of Alchester, the original Roman Bicester is just south of here and they've found a lot of wood, leather, cloth and stuff that has been preserved by being kept permanently waterlogged.
