Jordans Quaker Meeting House (1)
Jordans Quaker Meeting House (1)
During the 17th century the village of Jordans became a centre for Quakerism and this Meeting House was built in 1688. It retains most of the original bricks, glass, panelling, and benches. The house has a modern extension attached to the opposite out-of-sight, north-eastern, corner and it was this extension that was virtually destroyed in a fire on 10 March 2005. The fire also caused severe damage to the fabric of the roof of the original building.

The building is Grade I listed by virtue of its antiquity and associations with the Quaker movement.
