Bayard's Cove Fort

The English Heritage notice states that Bayard's Cove Fort is a single storey artillery fort built before 1534 to protect the harbour by Dartmouth Corporation. It has gun ports at ground level and a ruined stair leading to the wall walk. The fort was ideally sited to command the estuary at its narrowest point.

The fort was never used in anger.
