Fissured pine bark, Union Street Park, Torquay
The deeply fissured bark of this pine tree, probably a Monterey, gives the impression of being slices of wood that are almost glued together, or even as if it is a prop in a play, or even like an imagined Ent from Tolkien. The texture of the bark is invitingly tactile.
