What is now a footpath and cycle track between a railway and housing estate was a lane before those existed. It is shown on the 1870 Ordnance Survey map running between fields. It ran on south through an area which became an airfield, then became Hanger Hill Garden Estate.
Hanger Hill Garden Estate

Hanger Hill Garden Estate is notable for its mock-Tudor houses and apartments built from 1928 to 1936 on a site which had been an airfield and aircraft factory. There is an active residents' association. It has been a conservation area since 1969. The Ealing Council appraisal of the conservation area has extensive details of the architecture and many photos.
