See the end-note and NS2973 : Lurg Moor Roman fortlet for further details.

This is a view along the rampart on the northern side of the fortlet. The rampart is placed centrally in the photograph, and is shown receding directly from the photographer's position.

In the distant background, just right of centre, the Holy Loch can be seen branching off from the Firth of Clyde, with Long Long visible nearer the right-hand edge of the photo. The dark shape of Strone Hill (NS1882) lies between the two lochs.

This is one of three fortlets that were built south of the River Clyde to control the approaches to the western end of the Antonine Wall. See LinkExternal link (at Canmore) for archaeological details, and LinkExternal link for an annotated satellite image (zoom out for other nearby antiquities).
