The mansion was rebuilt and altered more than once following its 'decay' towards the end of the C18. The portico over the main entrance carries the date 1908 but the landscaping is thought to be Victorian. The house faces north and with these narrow windows must have been rather austere, unlike the welcoming abode recollected by Richard Fenton in its earlier incarnation.
