Coldharbour Mill, beam engine
Coldharbour Mill, beam engine
Four column beam engine built in 1867 by Kittoe & Brotherhood of London and installed in the Albion Brewery, Whitechapel. It was removed for an abortive project in Wiltshire and finally re-erected in a former beam engine house at Coldharbour Mill. In the brewery it had had a "pusher" engine attached to the opposite end of the crankshaft to boost its power. This latter horizontal single cylinder engine was finally scrapped.
