What a great sky. It looks really summery but the lack of people on the beach may be a clue to the fact that a biting cold wind made it a good day to be indoors.

Great Yarmouth is all built on a spit created by the southward drift of sand and gravel across the mouth of the rivers Bure and Yare, and none of the town is far above the sea level. Apparently in the Roman era there was no land here at all - just a huge estuary.
