Bow Station (North London Line) (remains of entrance)
View of station entrance on north side of Bow Road; ex-NLR (Broad St. etc.) - Dalston Junction - Victoria Park - Poplar line. This station was closed to passengers on 15/5/44, when the Dalston Jct. - Poplar service was substituted by buses (calling at all stations) until 23/4/45. Goods traffic continued on the line, but gradually declined and the line was disused by the 1980s. The route was taken over here by the entirely new Docklands Light Railway (Poplar - Stratford branch) and a new station (Bow Church) opened here on 31/8/87, on the opposite side of Bow Road. This site is hardly recognisable nearly 50 years later.
