Hunday - The National Tractor & Farm Museum, beam engine
This site opened in 1979 but closed many years ago and took a lot of tracking down. I think the position is close - based on the map in the guide book and on locating a circular building on the aerial photo that corresponded to a horse gin house. This engine was used at a tannery in Whitehaven and is thought to be by Tulk & Ley of Whitehaven in c1850. It is now at Hollycombe in Hampshire.
This was seen on part of a two week trip between university and my first job and most nights were spent in the back of an Astra estate.
