NG7846 : Coire Atadail

taken 15 years ago, near to Loch Dubh na Creige [water Feature], Highland, Great Britain

Coire Atadail
Coire Atadail
A classic glacial corrie, with a sprinkling of lochans. The largest is Loch Coire Atadail, at the centre and left. To the right can be seen a smaller lochan. The English spelling "Attadale" is also used, but the Gaelic version is making a comeback - the name itself is half-Norse (dalr - dale) and half Gaelic (Fada - long).
