Lifeboathouse, Bangor
Lifeboathouse, Bangor
Bangor lifeboat station opened in 1965. Initially the boat was kept in the yard of the Tower House and launched, manually, down the slip into the harbour. The present building was opened in 2001. The Atlantic 21 boat is launched by tractor and carriage. The Taylor Rock buoy was presented by Irish Lights in 2002 and is used to receive donations.
RNLI Lifeboat Stations

The lifeboat stations around the British coastline are run by the RNLI, a charity entirely funded by public donations.
