Rhododendron flowers, New Forest
Rhododendron flowers, New Forest
This is a flower head of Rhododendron ponticum, the invasive introduced species found throughout the New Forest. This particular bush was growing along the boundary of one of the cottages between the Pondhead Inclosure and Beaulieu Road. The species had spread into the neighbouring Pondhead Inclosure but this is currently being cut back during management works.
