Relic of quarrying, Hey Head Green, Langfield, Todmorden
Not marked on the modern map, and only as a black blob without a caption on the six-inch maps of c.1910 and 1930. The plinth has had sopmething bolted onto it, I suspect a crane. There is a broad trough to the right. It is close to the track up to the former sandstone quarry called Jail Hole. The buildings on the left in the distance include the Shepherd's Rest public house. See SD9422 : Plinth, Hey Head Green, Langfield, Todmorden for a close-up of the plinth.
