St Michael's church in Hockering
St Michael's church in Hockering
St Michael's church > Link dates from the early 14th century and was refurbished by the Victorians in the mid 1800s. The chancel > Link and its arch as well as the rood screen > Link date from that time and not all of the medieval benches have survived either, although some of the old bench ends > Link and poppy heads > Link were re-used on the new stalls. The bowl of the baptismal font > Link is also Victorian but the shaft > Link it rests on is medieval and depicts 8 saints (they had lost their heads in the 16th century but have since been restored).

During the summer months the church is open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
