St Paul's Church, Cross Stone, Todmorden
Cross Stone became an ecclesiastical parish in 1810. It was previously in the parish of Halifax, which originally included all of the upper Calder valley.
Update, thanks to Stephen Craven:
The church was built 1833-35 by Pickersgill and Matthew Oates replacing a smaller chapel of ease on the same site (there are 18th century burials). It is a 'Commissioners Church' with a large tower, and is said to be a copy of St James Hebden Bridge by Oates Snr. There was a Sunday School building on Broadstone Street lower down the hill.
The church ceased to be used for worship due to subsidence damage in the 1970s, was formally closed in 1980 and sold in 1988 for residential conversion. Allegedly most of the contents including the Kempe stained glass were lost in transit when a ship sank on its way to a buyer in the USA.

The benefice and parish of Cross Stone were united with Todmorden on 1/1/1994.
