Hay Meadow in Upper Teesdale
Hay Meadow in Upper Teesdale
There are two or even three 'yellowings' of hay meadows in Teesdale. In early spring certain fields may be yellow with dandelions being the dominant flower. In upper Teesdale then comes the most spectacular yellowing, by marsh marigold. This photograph shows the third yellowing where buttercups are dominant. The distant farm is Cronkley on the far side of the R. Tees, whilst to the left in the picture is Hill End.
