Heath conservation village - Dame Mary Bolle's Water Tower
Dame Mary Bolle's Water Tower including water wheel housing and overflow channel. Grade II* Water tower. Early-mid C17 restored c1985. Large well-coursed gritstone with Quoins and a stone slate roof. 5-stage tower square-on-plan. An unusual building associated with Heath Old Hall (demolished in the late 1950‘s). See SE3520 : Heath Old Hall From it a vista of the city of Wakefield may be obtained and it is likely it was also used as a viewing tower.
