Old mine near Trollers Gill
Old mine near Trollers Gill
This was an old lead mine, worked on several levels; another contributor states it was reworked for fluorspar from 1919, as shown on 1" maps. The blockwork structure in the foreground suggests it was worked until at least the 1960's (other contributors remember it still being worked in the 1970s and suggest 1982 as the approximate date of final closure).
