Crossing the River Tweed at the Braw Lads' Gathering
This photo, taken from Galafoot Bridge at the southeast edge of Galashiels, shows some of the 371 strong mounted cavalcade fording the River Tweed at Abbotsford during the Saturday morning ceremonial ride-out at the Braw Ladsí Gathering. As a safety precaution, members of a local diving club stand in the water to assist should anything go wrong, but the water level was low and there were no mishaps during the crossing.
