Severe Water Erosion on Back Lane nr Sydnope Hill
Back Lane is a road, albeit without a tarmac surface. The photo shows the effect of no maintenance, allowing drainage systems to become blocked, then the uncontrolled water flow to scour a deep washaway, making the road unusable to any normal vehicle.
See LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) for more details of this Lane, including Map References and links to Streetmap.
There are also two lanes join this one LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) and LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) (Butcher's Lane).
