SD1772 : North Walney national Nature Reserve

taken 16 years ago, 3 km from North Scale, Cumbria, England

North Walney national Nature Reserve
North Walney national Nature Reserve
The reserve is a wild and remote place; a complex coastal site with a mixture of sand dunes, slacks, salt marsh, wet and dry heath and grassland. The foreshore is good for birds and it has an important population of natterjack toads.
There are also some unimproved hay meadows - seen here.
