Originally called "The Ship Inn" this gourmet pub was renamed "The Pandora" in memory of the ship of that name that went down on the Great Barrier Reef in 1791. Legend has it that Edwards, the captain of the ship, bought the inn when he returned to England. There is a Georgian model of this ship in a glass case to the rear of the inn. Famously, Edwards is credited with "discovering" the island of Rotuma north of the Fiji Islands - also in 1791.
