Amwell Spring, Great Amwell
Amwell Spring, Great Amwell
This is one of two memorials on an island in the river channel at Great Amwell. This one carries a poem - for the full text see TL3712 : Poet's Corner, The New River. The other (not visible in this image) is TL3712 : Monument to Sir Hugh Myddelton. Sir Hugh was the constructor of the New River. Both memorials are shown in TL3712 : New River (River Lea Navigation) at Great Amwell. Notice the unusual footbridge to the right of the photo.
