Windmill at Bursledon
Windmill at Bursledon
There are three types of windmill (smock, post and tower). This is a nineteenth century tower mill just off Windmill Lane, Bursledon. The loop of rope and the large wheel at the top of the mill are used to rotate its timber built cap and the sails so that they can best catch the wind.
