Some fossil footprints of a Myriapod. A massive centipede-like creature living during the upper Carboniferous.

The creatures could grow up to 2.6 metres long, this example had a 30cm or so width. Foot of an 18 year old for scale on the far right.

I heard once that animals in the carboniferous were huge due to a higher amount of oxygen in the atmosphere, unsure of this though.
Seen on the coal beds at Laggan Harbour; unfortunately it is being eroded away. Cambridge University taken a section for preservation.
These tracks are some of the earliest terrestrial tracks in the world.
