This is one of several plaques on the monument seen here Link It seems that it rains a lot in Clevedon.
Millennium Monument, Clevedon

written by Brian Robert Marshall

The monument is called 'The Spirit of Clevedon AD 2000'. From a plaque attached to it:

'The sculpture designed by the citizens of Clevedon in the Millennium year portrays through its forward pointing sail shape, port hole rings, plaques and panels the pioneering and community spirit of the Town. It also reflects images of our local society and highlights the Town's European twinning with Ettlingen, Middelkerke and Epernay.

'Within its base is a time capsule containing a boundary map, photographs, a Clevedon Directory, other artifacts and essays entitled 'Discovering Clevedon's Time Capsule.' '
