The memorial tower to Sir Robert Peel high above Ramsbottom is one of two memorials erected in the Bury area to the memory of Sir Robert Peel, who was born in Bury; the other monument being SD8010 : Peel Statue in Market Place, Bury.

The tower occupies a prominent position on Holcombe Hill, close to Holcombe village 1100 feet (335 m) above sea level.
Completed in 1852, the tower cost £1000 to build; the money being raised by public subscription. It is 128 ft (39 m) high and there are 148 steps to get to the top.
