Lindisfarne Architecture : Postwar Factory
Lindisfarne Architecture : Postwar Factory
Although most of Lindisfarne's architecture is of the old picturesque picture-book variety (castles, priories etc) there are a few modern buildings tucked away here or there. On the basis of this view alone, dating this building accurately is tricky. The style looks mid 1950s to mid 1960s (particularly the reinforced concrete frame and lightweight infill panels). However the aggregate faced concrete panels resemble one of the prevailing fashions of the late 1960s/early 1970s.
