SV Glenlee (The Tall Ship at Glasgow Harbour)
The Glenlee was built at the Bay Yard, Glasgow in 1896 and is one of only five Clydebuilt sailing ships that remain afloat in the world. It was restored by the Clyde Maritime Trust and is maintained as a visitor attraction/museum at Yorkhill Quay, where it is known as "The Tall Ship at Glasgow Harbour".

In 1999 the Glenlee was recognised as part of the Core Collection of historic vessels in the UK; one of only 43 vessels recognised by the National Historic Ships Committee as being of pre-eminent national significance. LinkExternal link

SV Glenlee is a steel-hulled three-masted barque, built at the Bay Yard in Port Glasgow and launched in 1896. For 23 years she traded as a bulk cargo carrier under the Red Ensign. The ship was renamed the Clarastella in 1919 when she changed hands to the Star of Italy Italian Shipping Company of Milan. She was bought by the Spanish navy in 1922, renamed Galatea and turned into a sail training vessel.

The ship was modified and served in that role until 1969. She then operated as a static training school until 1981 when she was laid up in Seville Harbour and largely forgotten until she was rescued from being scrapped and brought back to Glasgow by the Clyde Maritime Trust.

Glenlee was berthed at Yorkhill Quay (NS5665 : SV Glenlee (The Tall Ship at Glasgow Harbour)) and maintained as a tourist attraction until August 2010 when she was towed downstream for further restoration work (NS5565 : River Clyde, Govan). Since 2011 Glenlee has been open as a museum ship berthed at the Riverside Museum on Pointhouse Quay, Glasgow and is known as “The Tall Ship at Glasgow Harbour”.
