St Mary's church > LinkExternal link is an impressive building dating mainly from the 14th century. The church interior has been extensively restored, so much so that in order to install the east window > LinkExternal link the whole chancel roof had to be raised in order to accommodate it. The window is by Ward & Hughes and dates from the 1860s. The C15 rood screen panels > LinkExternal link have survived and are in their original place whilst the rest of the screen is long gone. Several C14 rood screen panels originating from another (unknown) church have been incoroporated into the tower screen > LinkExternal link. The ceramic tiles around the nave walls are Victorian as are the stencilled patterns and painted roundels > LinkExternal link in the chancel, and the stencilling surrounding the tower and chancel arches. The greatest treasure of the church is the large quantity of medieval glass which was brought to the church by the Reverend Robert Barry, who found it in a builder's yard. This glass can be seen in both porch windows > LinkExternal link and in the nave tracery lights > LinkExternal link.
