Geograph - photograph every grid square

The current weekend sees the end to daily opening, at the British Wildlife Centre, for the general public. The past six weeks have seen an interesting change in red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) behaviour. The little squirrel, in this picture, has become the most friendly in the walk through enclosure, coming up to say "hello" to visitors. Until yesterday, I had not seen him climb on anyone, although he had witnessed another squirrel shinning up trouser legs.

Yesterday, all changed. When the Keeper came in to give the 10.30 talk, she witnessed bedlam; squirrels running everywhere, and this chap jumping on people on a regular basis. Later, when the crowd had thinned, this squirrel again came up to say "hello". I got down to his level (he was standing on a hand-rail), and he looked from left shoulder, to right shoulder, and back, several times. Still undecided, he jumped; landing on my head! After carrying out a close inspection of myself, my rucksack, and my camera, he started to chew my fleece, before scampering down my arm, and away.
