NG3651 : Fence on the moor
taken 14 years ago, near to Suladale, Isle of Skye, Scotland
Fence on the moor
Over the centuries, a huge amount of effort has gone in to building walls and, more recently, erecting fences over many acres of moorland. Today, the walls are mostly tumbled or buried under a growth of moss and bracken, and the fences are rusting or broken. Here, the fence is still in reasonable condition, but a nearby gateway is broken down, so the fence serves no useful purpose.
