Friston St Mary's church
Friston St Mary's church
The tower is unusual in that it has a niche above the weathering of each of the buttresses and a further three on the west face. All are empty. The tower was rebuilt about 1900 using the original materials and in the same 14th c style. The roof is a single barn type and outwardly makes no distinction between the nave and the chancel. The south doorway is 12th c. and has engaged columns to the jambs with consecration crosses either side.
