Balloch Pier. The railways arrived in Balloch on 15th July 1850 making the Loch accessible for many people, the steamers connected with the passenger trains. The station (originally Balloch Wharf) and section of line Link from Balloch Central Link closed on 28th September 1986. P.S. Maid of the Loch Link , the last conventional paddle steamer to be built in Great Britain, is berthed at Balloch Pier.
