Hurt Wood covers an area of 3000 acres of woodland in the Surrey Hills AONB. It stretches from Holmbury St Mary in the east to Winterfold Heath in the west and includes Pitch Hill, Holmbury Hill, as well as Holmbury St Mary and Peaslake villages. Map LinkExternal link .
The area has right to roam and is looked after by The Friends of Hurt Wood. Website: LinkExternal link The area is mainly wooded with deciduous and conifer stands.
