The path follows the line of the dismantled Cleator and Workington Junction Railway LinkExternal link . It is part of National Cycle Route 72, Hadrian's Cycleway, which goes from Ravenglass to South Shields.
The information board tells what wildlife can be seen in the ponds on either side of the track.
