All Saints' church in Belton - Norman baptismal font
All Saints church > Link received its red tile roof in 1880; nave and chancel are reconstructed, and the round tower, a heap of rubble by the mid 19th century, is completely rebuilt. Sadly, this church is kept firmly locked ever since in 2002 the congregation decided to move out and use a nearby school room instead. The west end of the nave at present appears to be used for the entertainment of the young members of the congregation. The church houses a number of interesting survivals such as a Norman font as well as three medieval wall paintings > Link and a C15 chancel screen > Link. The east window > Link dates from the late 19th century and was made by the Kempe workshop. The 1870s reredos > Link is by James Elwell, cabinet-maker and successful woodcarver from Beverley in East Yorkshire.
