Gulworthy: Devon Great Consols Railway at Devon United
By the branch to Bedford United, seen on the right. The railway was originally built to standard gauge but reworking of the dumps at Devon Great Consols and some operations here at Devon United meant that the line using the branch was relaid with narrow gauge track and operated in the 1920s, wagons being hauled by a petrol-engined Simplex locomotive.
