Paint Shed
Paint Shed
This listed building is all that now remains of Henry Robb's shipyard which formerly was located here. Most of the area now comprises the shopping mall 'Ocean Terminal'. The paint shed was built using shipbuilding techniques of joggled type steel plating and is riveted. Robb's, one of a number of shipbuilding yards in Leith, built many notable ships and was in existence from 1918 until 1983. The Royal Yacht 'Britannia' is now moored at the area once covering the slipways. The paint shed was listed by Historic Scotland in 1994.
