NY7545 : Going round the bend

taken 15 years ago, near to Nenthall, Cumbria, England

Going round the bend
Going round the bend
The building with the black shutters was a former blacksmith's at Nenthall. It was once used to shoe the carriers' ponies used to transport lead ore to the smelters. Hazard warning chevrons alert road traffic of this sharp bend which is also a road junction. Isaac's Tea Trail (to and from Nenthead) also intersects the road here and walkers need to cross with care.
